Where do we start with the Met Gala 2021? There is a lot of uncertainty with some of the celebrities and outfits this year but I guess that is what happens every year. What can you expect? Not everyone is going to like the outfit and the style or who goes to the Gala. We can only have our opinions though.
So, the theme of this years Met Gala was ‘American Independence’ and everyone shows that in their own unique and stylish ways. I want everyone to let me know what their look was their favourite and who’s they didn’t so much expect or like, don’t be mean though!
My personal favourite was Kendall Jenner’s beautiful dress by Givenchy. It was inspired by Audrey Hepburn’s dress that she wore in ‘My Fair Lady’. It had the beautiful jewel-embellished sleeved and a choker.
This was my personal favourite because she can look stunning in everything. I was very surprised to see Gigi Hadid there. I am a massive fan of Gigi as well and she looked gorgeous. I would have loved to have seen Zayn at the Gala again but obviously, they have a kid.
I was so impressed with Lil Nas X! He has been pulling off all the style lately. I am loving what he is doing in this fashion industry. He wore this outfit made by Donatella Versace and he served us with three outfits.
His first reveal was of course this beautiful gold beading drape with felt very royal to me. It had a long flowing train as well.
He then strikes us with this golden suit of armour underneath it. I love his style! I really do. He looked so pretty. He really deserves a medal for the three-piece outfit. He literally is a medal in this armour outfit.
He then finishes his look with this slinky tight bodysuit that was covered in crystals and the Versace signature house print. This is also his first Met Gala! How will he ever top these looks off because this is the best first impression anyone could make.
He killed it!
I know so many people were controversial on whether Addison Rae and other YouTubers/ TikTokers should have gone. I personally didn’t like Addison Rae being there and I have no hate or anything towards her, I just didn’t think she suited it.
Dixie D’amelio, looked quite shy, obviously because it is her first time but I think she still honestly looked incredible. Emma Chamberlain… love her! She should have totally been there, she did amazing with the interviews. She has been to Fashion Weeks with Louis Vuitton and also looks so stylish. I love how she has got more into fashion.
Emma totally belonged there and deserved to be there. I also love the friendship created between Kendall, Gigi and Hailey with Emma. That is iconic! Hailey Bieber… Hailey and Justin looked beautiful but I wish they went more full-out like everyone else. Embraced it and got more creative.
Not saying they didn’t look good! I just wish they stood out more. What a couple though! I love them.
I am not going to lie though… what was Kim Kardashian wearing? She looked so stunning in 2019 at the Met Gala, they all did but this year I was definitely not a fan of her outfit. It was very different. Obviously, Kylie is pregnant and couldn’t attend but Kris! She appeared out of nowhere and looked like a boss.
I very much missed all of the celebrities who didn’t go! So many of everyone’s favourites didn’t appear which was one of the downsides but there is always next year. I missed Zendaya, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Blake Lively, Selena Gomez, Billy Porter, Bella Hadid, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Kylie Jenner, Cardi B, Ariana Grande! And of course, Harry Styles!
